1. Service description
Gutter converts a Word manuscript into a book interior validated against Amazon KDP rules, and optionally an ePub file. The result must be reviewed by the user before final publication.
2. Pricing and payment
- Pay-per-book, no monthly subscription.
- Base rate of €0.15 per page, with a €15 minimum per order.
- Type multipliers apply (poetry ×1.3, thesis/academic ×1.25) and a per-page surcharge for illustrated books.
- A clean ePub is an optional €19 add-on.
- Free preview: we analyse your entire book, free, and you can ask for as many changes as you want by talking to the AI. The preview is shown in the viewer with an identifying watermark. You only pay when you want to download it without the watermark. The behaviour is identical for every order, with no limits per account or per number of orders.
3. Delivery and validation guarantee
Files are generated automatically and available for download within minutes of payment. If Amazon KDP rejects the file specifically over the layout Gutter generated, it will be reprocessed at no extra cost until validated.
4. Refunds
As the service is delivered immediately, as a general rule refunds are not issued once the file has been generated. This rule has two exceptions:
- Technical error on our side: if the failure is attributable to a technical error in Gutter, the amount is refunded in full.
- 7-day satisfaction guarantee (paid orders only): if within the 7 calendar days following delivery you are not happy with the result, you may request a full refund by writing to hola@gutter.app. This is a voluntary commercial commitment, additional to your statutory rights, and does not apply to the free preview (which, involving no payment, generates no refundable amount).
After those 7 days, the general rule above applies. Under Spanish Royal Legislative Decree 1/2007, the right of withdrawal does not apply once the digital content has been delivered with the user's express consent to immediate performance; the 7-day guarantee is offered voluntarily, beyond that statutory provision.
5. Applicable law
These Terms are governed by Spanish law. Disputes are subject to the Courts of Madrid, Spain. EU consumers may also use the online dispute resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
